Testimonial - MOPS Mom
I was invited to MOPS last year as a guest and had never heard of MOPS and didn't know what to expect. At that time in my life, I was a brand new mom and my marriage was in jeopardy. I was facing a future as a single mom with a failed marriage and was scared to death. I needed support as a mom and as a woman. Unexpectedly, I found that support through other women. Their support allowed me to gain back my confidence at a critical time and to trust God in my situation, no matter how it all turned out. The speaker that first night spoke to my heart. Ironically, she spoke about the ups and downs of marriage and how God fits into all of it. Through her message, presented with much love and humor, I came away with some much-needed peace, a few ideas, and a glimmer of hope. I am happy to say that my family is very much in tact today and although MOPS isn't the entire reason my situation turned around, it was there for me and gave me a clear Christ-centered perspective at a time when I needed it most. I have since joined the leadership team and have enjoyed being part of this growing group and thinking about what impact I can have on a woman who may be in need of something...support, friendship, a break, perspective, Christ.
I found out later that through a prayer request submitted on my behalf these women had prayed for me and my situation before I even attended that first meeting. In a way, I feel that they prayed me right through the front doors and into this group.
